Project Scope: piping, mechanical
Location: St. Paul, MN
NAC served as the prime mechanical contractor in the replacement of the existing sidewalk snowmelt system at Cohen Plaza Ramsey County’s Courthouse located in St. Paul MN. NAC removed the existing snowmelt tubing and expanded its coverage by installing 5,600 square feet of snow melt tubing (nearly 2.5 miles). A new plate and frame heat exchanger was installed in the mechanical room to provide heating for the snowmelt system fed from district energy. NAC provided value engineering options to repurpose a portion of the existing snowmelt piping system, which reduced project costs, and eliminated disruption to occupied areas and building finishes. Project savings allowed the county to redirect project funds to other needed mechanical maintenance work within the building, which NAC performed.
